Vietnam detailed Itinerary

Vietnam had been on our bucket list since a long time. However, we couldn't make up to it untill September 2023 due to work commitments or other unavoidable circumstances.

We booked the entire trip through a Vietnamese Travel Company and had a good experience.

Here is the itinerary that we followed with some personal inputs.

Day 1- Danang

We started our trip from Hyderabad India and Landed in Da Nang after a short layover in Malaysia

Da Nang - We had two nights stay in Danang and stayed very closed to  Danang Beach.

Hotel - Greenery in Danang was the one we checked in into and found the hotel to be decent.Though it was very close to beach like 2-3 minutes walk.. I would still recommend to stay in the hotels with beach view which are right on the beach.

This hotel had only one veg option besides few cut fruits and which is one reason for its mark down.

Though there were multiple cafes around and one can easily enjoy veg food and coffee .

Dragon Bridge- We had  specifically planned to start the trip on weekend to witness Dragon Bridge fire show which was totally worth the hype. It was a walk of 15-20 mind towards the iconic Dragon Bridge from Hotel

Night Market- There was a nice Night Market right across the road near Dragon Bridge and there were lots of stalls full of Sovenier and other similar items.

Love Lock Bridge - This is also located right next to Dragon Bridge where in one can purchase lock ,get your name engraved and tie it.

Cafe  - There are lot of cafes on the same street and near Love Lock bridge such as Ship cafe etc. One can have a lovely evening by doing cafe hopping. Since Vietnam is popular for its coffee...one can definitely try here.

Day 2 - Danang City Tour

•We visited Non Nuoc stone sculpture village and Mable Mountain with Xa Loi tower, Linh Ung I pagoda, Tang Chon cave, Huyen Khong cave, Tam Thai pagoda and go up Vong Giang Dai.

•Further continued visiting Linh Ung Bai But and enjoy the biggest Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Statue of Viet Nam.

We drove across Thuan Phuoc bridge, one of the longest cable-stayed bridges of Viet Nam.

From here, we had a great view over Han river bridge, Vung Thung and God's eye of Indochina before arriving to visit the Museum of Cham Sculpture.

After lunch we visited Han market- the most famous markets of Da Nang, opened from the French colonial. This was more of dried non veg and clothes which did not interest us much and we left.

Around 2pm we were back after covering all of the above and decided to take some rest.

Around 5pm we again left to stroll at beach and then headed towards local night market.

We ended our day 2 and last day in Da Nang with scrumptious meal at a local cafe.

Over all we totally loved Da Nang for its clean beaches, vibrant market and cafe culture.

Day 3 -  Danang – Transfer to Hoi An –

Hoi An City tour and Coconut Village

We started our day witnessing heavy down pour and somehow managed to reach Hoi An by pre booked car arranged through our tour operator.

We checked into - Lantana Riverside Hotel

We totally loved the hotel, room and its overall vibes. But the weather was not in our favour and it started to rain cats and dogs as soon as we started our Hoi An city tour.

Though we explored local market, Japanese bridge and few other sights but honestly all we did was to save ourselves from getting wet.

Half heartedly we headed towards Coconut village amidst heavy rain as our tour guide refused to cancel or reschedule it.

Coconut Village was completely flooded and we were asked to still jump in to the boat for the tour. The rain had decided not to stop and two minutes into the ride, we decided to head back to hotel leaving everything in middle.

Once we reached hotel we freshened up and headed for the lantern boat ride.

As mentioned before we liked the hotel but it was very very far from the main market and the boating area. We had to walk almost 4-5kms to reach the boating area as there were no cabs available near by.

Lantern Boat was totally worth it and so was the entire place. Fully lit up market and lanterns around made up for everything.
