Bombay Duck, Hyderabad
For someone who loves food, the idea of meeting a gang of foodies was nothing less than thrilling.
Thanks to Monica Banerjee for organizing a Zomato meet on 8th October at Bombay Duck, Hyderabad.
We were welcomed by three Zomians at the venue and they looked in absolute mood for a foodie evening.
Place looked nice with more of contemporary modern feel. We were seated next to bar area..which looked vibrant with live mocktails been made. Though we were sitting inside, place has a good outside seating area as well , where in artificial waterfalls and greenery looked pleasing.
After exchanging pleasantries we were served delightful Watermelon mocktail..which was beautifully done with a piece of watermelon hung at the glass and glass being decked up with ice..and drink was flavorful.
I also tried Virgin Mojito..which was definitely steal of the show..at least in mocktails..and has to be tried. Besides the look which of course was very nice..it tasted equally amazing...a perfect muddling of mint with lime and loads of ice.
Further we were served starters- In starters we tried Pita pockets served with Chilli and garlic dip, Veg Fatayer stuffed with spinach and Makai ki seekh.
Pita pockets were moderately stuffed pockets..which were savour, Makai ki seekh were very soft and looked delicious but were a little spicy.
The best one I loved was Fatayer stuffed with spinach.
God..I would love to eat spinach all day if served in such yummier amazing pockets.
In Veg soup we were served Minestrone de Verdure...I know it sounds something out of world...but it was palatable besides looking very healthy..as it had like huge list of vegetables in it..which were clearly visible.
Main course had Paneer Zafrani and Dal Makhni served with good hot breads Laccha Parantha and Garlic Naan. It was decent to taste and were served in good portions.
Though we were already stuffed but there is always a small section reserved for deserts...
Chocolate Fettuccini with Caramelized Banana was first one we tried where in Caramelized Banana was awesome being their in house ice cream. Panna cotta was okish but the best one was Tres Leche.
Though initially I had my apprehensions if they would offer something for veggie too...but thank god my thought was proved wrong as they had a good spread.
Service was decent, prompt and staff was courteous.
Besides food and venue, it was a gala time with all the foodies and sharing of experiences of places in Hyderabad.
Kudos to team of Monica for being such warm hosts and for a great experience.
